| What has the Berg "Bohaai" done in the past? |
|
| Over the years Berg Bohaai has experienced a tremendous amount of goodwill from sponsors and the community at large. Berg Bohaai is truly inclusive and is committed to the upliftment of all sectors of the community. All age groups can enjoy the Bohaai as it has a wide range of activities on offer. Over the years Berg Bohaai has networked quite extensively and has been involved in various tourism initiatives and advocacy drives. Projects included the development of brochures on Harrismith, a Christmas light project and creating awareness on the poor state of the Harrismith Town Hall and the Botanical garden.

| One of the greatest success stories however is our partnership with N3TC. We have had a long and fruitful association with N3TC; they have been great support. We are particularly grateful that Berg Bohaai can be part of the SA N3TC Dirty Harry MTB event! We see this as a great marketing opportunity for our town. |
| What is the Berg ”Bohaai’s” vision for 2010? |
We would like to encourage folk to take charge of their future. We are finding that although we live in a "new South Africa", and people are free to choose their own destiny, many seem to be unable to grasp this fact and benefit from it. It is our aim to encourage and motivate them. For this reason we are launching our "Table Cloth Project". The idea is to hand out tablecloths, napkins, tissue box covers etc, to schoolchildren. They are to get their mothers, fathers, and grannies, to decorate them either in beadwork or embroidery or to paint them. We will then buy the finished article from them, provided the quality is of good standard, and then sell them at the Berg Bohaai. Athletes, such as runners and cyclists, are potential buyers. Thanks to the N3TC Dirty Harry Mountain Race, we already have the buyers in place. Our future plans include some road races, mountain "cross country" and a night race.
Another group of potential buyers will be those visitors who want to come and have a jolly good time. To attract this group we need some top class entertainers, like Theuns Jordaan, Steve Hofmeyer, Juanita Du Plessis, and Dozi.. To get these people we need serious funding, but we believe these people will attract the crowds who will come and buy at our craft stalls.
We would also like to host the N3 Gateway Arts and Cultural regional finals, which consists of finalists of local artists who have had the opportunity during the year to show their talents be it dancing, singing, pottery etc, and the Berg "Bohaai" could showcase these talents to the general public.

| What assistance do we require? |
| To get the "Tablecloth" project up and running, we need assistance with the material for the Tablecloth project - either in money or in material. We also need volunteers to teach folk how to make the goods that will attract buyers. We would appreciate any assistance from any one reading this article, be it financial or physical.
